Pictures-Page 4

Here are two builders examples of the designer's Fantastic II 16hp, two place, 1975 design.

FIICOMP

This is a Universal UH 15P, built by Glen Harrington, of Junction City, Oregon. The machine uses a 1.4L Subaru for thrust and a 12hp Briggs for lift. Top over water speed is probably close to 50mph. To see what Glen, a retired high school wood shop teacher, has been up to check page 5 of this series.

UH15P

This is a rare two engine design by the designer. The Fan-tastic III was built around 1979 by Reed Manwill, currently of West Valley City, Utah. The thrust unit is a 16hp twin Briggs, and the lift is 10hp. Top speed for this 3 place craft was 33mph.

FANIII

Here is another view of the Scout by Daniel Coon and a 1989 Utility sev, by the designer, with the modern Vanguard air drive components. This craft is shown while it was in a parade! (This is the second of the designer's sevs to march in a parade.)

VANSCOUT

This Vanguard, built by Dave Crawford of Lake Forest Park, WA, was videoed by the designer right through construction and operation, (See video section in this web site.)

VANCRAW

This Vanguard, built by Charles Hatfield of Bentonville Arkansas, uses the 12 1/2 foot hull and 18hp Vanguard engine.

VANHAT

This Vanguard, built by Charles Beyer of Lake City, CA, is one of a number he has built for public agencies for ecological work on tidal flats.

VANBEYER

This Vanguard, built by Rodney David, of Albany OR, was photographed at the Pacific Northwest Hoverin at Longview, WA, June, 1996. This craft uses the 20hp Vanguard engine and is a most excellent example of the Vanguard design. This was the eighth local Vanguard driven by the designer.

VANDAVID

Ed Strunk, of Copiague, NY, operates his Vanguard sev along the Long Island Shoreline.
